Wow! It's been over a month since I last blogged. I haven't had time to do too many new projects I guess. Sometimes there's just no time to be creative when you're doing laundry, carpooling, homework, housework, churchwork, etc.
I did have time to do a little garage saleing (I don't think that's a real word but, I'm using it anyway). I still can't believe I woke up at 6:30 in the morning, drug my 3 girls out of bed, picked up my sweet sister and went out garage saleing. I think my mom is the most shocked of all. I just never have been able to be comfortable going to garage sales. I don't like to barter and I don't like to race people to try and get the best stuff so, I never go. I do like a good deal though. And this trip was worth it!
I went looking for two specific things: a bed frame & a dresser, both for my daughter's room. Here is the bed frame that I found...
and this is the dresser...
I want to paint both pieces white to go with the decorating in my daughter's room. Now, if my #3 sister (let's call her Ms. Do It All) had this project to do, she would have it done within 2 days. For me, these things take a little longer.
The bed frame was a little too "pioneer" for me so, I took off the applique and filled in all of the distressing.
It is not looking so pretty at this point. But, I'm fairly positive that it will turn out looking great in the end.
I've got it primed now & ready for paint. I will show you the finished project when it's all done! Oh! I forgot, I got them both for $60!
