{ Witchy Woman }

Meet Witchy Woman...

I met her at Home Goods last year. She begged me to take her home with me. I couldn't say no. I didn't know where she would live in my house. She told me she didn't need anything special. Just a place by the front door so everyone could see her coming & going.

Oh, and a little perch to sit upon.

Doesn't she look pleased?

{ Black Spray Paint is my Friend }

First of all, I want to thank all of you that commented about which flower photo you liked better. Ms. Sassypants was beyond thrilled to read all of the wonderful things that you said about her. She has finally decided that she will enter #2, the yellow flower. Again, thank you for commenting. It really did make her day!

Yesterday I got my Halloween boxes out to look through & just couldn't help but put some things out. I'm like a kid at Christmas when it comes to Halloween. I also decided to get some of my spray painting projects done. Can you can guess what color I used?...

Yes, that's my hand. Ugh! I got so into spraying everything that I didn't want to stop to get gloves. I still can't get the paint off of my nails. But, it was worth it. I spray painted the empty black frames in the following pictures. One was silvery & the other was cream.

I love how they turned out. These are from my family room. I usually like to make that the scary black & white Halloween room.

The living room is where all the fun, cute Halloween decorations go. I will share those when I get them up. I will show you more of my black spray paint projects later, including that fun Halloween project I talked about earlier.

{ Up For a Vote }

Don't worry. This is not about the presidential election or anything like that. It's much more serious. :) Ms. Sassypants wants to enter a photography competition at her school. So she went out and took some pictures of the flowers in the neighborhood tonight. I did not help her with these except with the technical stuff on the computer. I have to say, she did a pretty good job. Especially considering she used my seriously lame camera. She has narrowed it down to two of her favorites but, can't decide which one she likes best. So we are asking for you help. What do you think?...

or #2

Come on now. Please leave a comment. Like I've said before, I'm not sure I have more than 2 readers {okay 3...thanks mom} but, if you've never commented before this would be a good time to start. All we need is a little 'ol number... 1 or 2. Come on, do it for a cute {yet sassy} 10 year old. It would make her day.

{ Puzzled }

So, is everyone putting out Halloween already? Am I the only one that thinks that I'm supposed to wait? Is there some kind of rule that says when the time is right to start decorating for Halloween? And if there is, am I wrong to want to break that rule & put my stuff out now? I did see pumpkins for sale at the grocery store today. I'm just saying.

While I'm debating that very important question, I am working on a very fun Halloween project. I can't wait to show it to you. And unlike the broken promises of showing you Ms. Sassypants completed room, I promise to show you this project very soon. PROMISE!

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these photos from Country Living.

By the way, I realize I revealed way too much about my K.I.C.O.C.D. {Keep It Clean On Cleaning Day} issue. I'm so sorry. Seriously, I am not like that normally. Just on cleaning day. And just so you know, I never used to notice eraser shavings until a friend pointed it out so, at least I have a K.I.C.O.C.D. friend {who is an enabler, I might add}.

{ Finally! Fall Nesting }

Wow! The last time I blogged was in August, like a month ago! Okay, it was only 11 days ago. Still it feels like I've been absent for much longer than that. Now that school has finally started, I spent most of the day good cleaning my house. I do this every year. I don't know if there are any of you mom's out there who feel like this but, I never feel like my home stays clean for more than half a second in the summer. There's just too many kids running in & out all times of the day. I can barely keep it picked up. Every year school starts on a Thursday & I good clean my house the following Monday. That's when I turn into the clean monster! I don't cook dinner because I don't want to mess up the clean kitchen. And when the kids get home from school I run to the door to greet them so that they will take off their shoes so as not to dirty my clean floor. And then... "Honey, please don't brush your eraser shavings onto the floor. Just coral them into a neat little pile after you erase & then throw them in the garbage when you're all finished. K? Thanks!" Am I horrible? Yes, but, it's only for one day. I just want it to stay clean for one day! Tomorrow morning someone will spill milk, drop toaster crumbs & sprinkle sugar everywhere so, things will be back to normal.

Any who!...The reason I bring up good cleaning my house {I knew there was a reason} is because I always like to clean the house before putting out seasonal decorations. So after my house was spic & span, I brought out just a couple of fall looking things.

Today the weather was a teeny bit cooler {88 degrees} with a nice little breeze so, it's kind of sort of starting to feel like autumn is on it's way.

I am loving every one's Fall Nesting posts. I am fighting with all my might not to get the Halloween decorations out yet. Ms. Sassypants was begging to put them out today. She even said, "We'll just put the decorations up inside the house so the neighbors won't know." Too funny!
