{ An Office Story }
Posted by
April
Once upon a time I had an office. I loved my office, but alas, family needs prevailed and my office ended up becoming my teenage daughter's room. What's a girl to do? I lasted about three month with my stuff in storage before I said "Enough! I need My Space." So as I looked around my home I had a thought. My formal dining room only gets used about once a month, and I never really liked the look of it anyway, so it has now become my new office and I love it! I got the bookcases from Walmart, and the basket and boxes came from Lowes and Ikea. I labeled them all so I can find everything easily.The chair was a garage sale find that I slipcovered. I was able to put most of my stuff in this area, the rest (unattractive and oversized items) I put in my unused entry closet. I kept the dining room table so we can pull chairs around it and still use it for overflow seating, but meanwhile I can spread out and really create! I have found that I really like working on the main floor instead of being crammed away in a room, so we all lived happily ever after.

Sooo smart and beautiful....
Good idea, April! I think the bookshelves work great in there. They fill up the wall nicely. And, I agree, I like working out where I can be with the family.
It looks REALLY great!! I love it! I never use my area either b/c it's in a room.
It looks great! I love the look of the bookcases on that wall. And I agree about the location---it's good to be close to the hub of the home--the kitchen!
I love it April! I need you to come help me make my place look as nice as yours! :)
Yea!! I love it. MOM
fantastic! It looks beautiful. :)
I love it!
Our spare that would have been our office was turned into a nursery and so I am cramming everything into our master currently. I am playing with the idea right now of turning one of our closets into an office! I've seen a post somewhere about it and I think I'm going to take the plunge!
So glad 'just a girl' led me to find your blog!
such great idea, wish I could convince my hubby that is what we should do! lol
I think the larger dark bookcases actually help the room look larger also. nice work!
