{ Master Bathroom Update }

I hate showing projects that aren't finished but, I'm going to do it anyway because, who knows when I'll get it totally done.
If you remember from way back, our master bath was in desperate need of an update. Here is the before...
Yucky, huh? We don't have the money to do a total remodel so, we decided to see what we could do with some paint.
We painted the cabinets white & the walls a lovely shade of tan. We also trimmed out the windows, took down the big mirror & got rid of the nasty lights. Wow! I can't believe what a difference those simple things made!
There are still a few more things I would like to do.
Here's my to do list:
1. Hang a shelf on the wall above the tub with cute stuff on it.
2. Make curtains for the windows.
3. Come up with a creative solution for the ugly medicine cabinet mirror.
4. Put knobs/pulls onto cabinets that will help tie in the black mirrors. Not sure what finish.
5. Accessorize the counter top.
So, what do you think?

Your before pictures remind me so much of our master bathroom...oak cabinets, vanity lights, ugly mirrors...blah blah and more blah! I'm starting to look for ideas to re-decorate (not re-model) it and this give me hope!! Thanks for sharing!

Love it all. But, esp. the light fixtures. Very clean and unique.

I love it, too. The crisp white, with the black mirror frames totally do it for me.

It's beautiful. It's amazing what paint can do. :) The first thing I thought about your medicine cabinet was putting some sort of cool black stick-on (vinyl, they're all over Etsy) and making it into Art.

What process did you go through to paint the cabinets? We have the exact same ones and I would love to paint them, but it scares me!!

Just stopping by and thought I'd leave a comment, hope you don't mind.

Your bathroom update looks great! We will soon be tackling the same project and your bathroom layout is just like ours so it was nice to see the finished project. I too want to take down the large mirror...was it a hard job to get the large mirror down? What a world of difference with the two mirrors and new lighting. I can't wait! Thanks for the inspiration!

It's WONDERFUL! My master bath is similar in style to your "before," although I have replaced the old light fixtures with ones like your new ones. You did a great job and have inspired me to work on mine some more!

It's beautiful! My bath looks like your Before and I'm so tired of it. You've inspired me! I'd love to hear more about painting your cabinets. What type of paint did you use (latex or oil)? Did you sand/prime them first or just start painting?

Gorgeous! Looks so much like my bathroom. I really want to know how you got that massive mirror off the wall? -- I have one just like it and can't even begin to figure out how to remove it without cleaning up shards of mirror for the next 3 days.

Great job! We have a similar master bath and I'm slowly transforming it on a tiny budget. So far we've painted and tiled our floor. Then we had to replace our shower. Next up, the vanity. It's very similar to yours. Any tips on painting it?

your before bathroom is exactly like my "now" bathroom. LOL. do you mind sharing the white paint color you used for your cabinets? And the paint color on the wall? Also where you got your black mirrors? Thanks!

So inspiring! Your bathroom is the exact same layout as mine, and I have just started a mini- redo. I have trimmed out the window, and am working a on shade/treatment combo. Am trying to find an inexpensive way to replace that huge mirror with smaller framed versions like you now have. Pretty!

Those simple changes made a HUGE difference! The colors are so serene and have created a spa-like, sophisticated room. Your tiled tub fits right in now and blends into it's new surroundings. Thanks for sharing! It's lovely.
