{ New Wreath }

Sheri, unexpectedly, came into town for a couple of days so I had her help me with a project.
I hung our mirror over the new couch, but thought it needed a bit of a soft touch.
I bought a grapevine wreath & we went to a wholesale design warehouse for the greenery.
Sheri put the wreath together for me.
What do you think?

I decided to use the extra ribbon from my junk basket liners to hang it.
I love how simple it is.
And the orangey red stripes in it go perfectly with the pillows on the couch.

Now, you should head over to brown paper packages & check out the cute wreath that she made!

{ Junk Baskets }

I finished my junk baskets!

Remember when they looked like this?...
I had searched for baskets for a long time that would fit on our steps.
The rectangular ones took up too much stair space & the square ones were too small.
When I found these pail shaped ones, I knew they would be perfect!

You see, I'm always piling my kids' junk left downstairs onto the steps.
Usually, they each have their own step full of junk.
I thought it might be nice to have a basket to contain it.
Nice for me, anyway.
They don't care.

I knew I wanted to line them, but I just couldn't get myself to drag the sewing machine out.
Then, during my daily blog reading, I read on Home & Harmony how she hot glued liners into her baskets.
Brilliant!

These are her baskets.
They are in her totally cute laundry room, by the way.
You really should go over & check it out.
Her home is beautiful.
I, especially, love her her kitchen.

And, yes, I completely copied her basket lining idea.
It was so easy.
I love how they turned out.

Oh, yeah, and the stairs, paint & carpet are finished!
It's so nice to have the house cleaned up & put back together.
I LOVE how the stairs turned out.
What a difference!

By the way, I think I have some permanant nerve damage in my spray painting finger.
I didn't realize how tricky it was to paint baskets.
There are a lot of grooves.
After I was finished, I had a numb finger for two days.
And two weeks later, it still tingles a little.
Do you think I should invest into one of those spray paint handle things?
Do you know of a good one?

Well, here's to lots more spray painting!
Have a great weekend!

{ String of Pearls }

School is almost out.
I am so over it!
I'm ready for summer!
I'm ready to bbq.
I'm ready to hang out at the pool.

I'm ready to use our new patio furniture.
I'm ready to read the stack of books that I've been collecting.
I'm ready for homemade ice cream & snow cones.
Ahhhh!

Next Wednesday is our last day.

Okay, I feel much better.

When I was in Target, yesterday, I bought this little plant.
Everytime I see one, it reminds me of my Grandpa Olsen.
Good memories.
It is called string of pearls.
It's a succulent so it doesn't need much water.
I'm hoping it does well sitting in the sun.
I don't have much luck with things in pots, so we'll see.

By the way, I'm linking up to Frugal Mom X3! Go check out some great backyard ideas!

I hope you all are enjoying your summer { jealous }. :)
Have a great weekend!

{ She's a Grand Old Flag }

Yikes! It's a mess around here! Painting, Staining, Carpeting...exciting!
Everything should been done next Monday {fingers crossed} and then I will be doing some major cleaning.
What a lot of dust it all makes!

Anyway, due to the mess, I have no projects to show you.
But, never fear, blog world is here to save the day!
Under the Table and Dreaming is the superhero of the day.
She has a lot of really fabulous crafts, but since the 4th of July is coming up I thought you might
like to see a few that celebrate America.

American Flag Spindle Post Tutorial
I am definitely going to make me one of these!

My kids would love to make this!

So cool! I love the crackle finish!

Every time Boo sees an American flag she yells out "The Grand Old Flag!" and I have to sing the song...
every time!

Go on over & check out all of the other super creative things Stephanie Lynn has created!
And tell her I sent you!

P.S. I love the *U.S.A.*

{ Lotsa Happenin' }

Hey all! I wanted to show you a few items I soon {hopefully} will be working on...
I got these baskets at Michaels for 40% off.
I'm hoping they will work for an idea I've had in my brain for quite some time now.

I found this clock at Target, on clearance for $7.48. I've got plans for it.
I hope it turns out as cute as I'm picturing it.
Fingers crossed.

And, we {okay not we, but some very nice men} are working on the stairs.
What a stinky {literally} mess.

It's the end of the school year & I've got to get teacher gifts together.
We had 2 birthdays this week to celebrate.
I have an activity for 50 children from church to plan.
We're out of milk & eggs.
Lotsa happenin'.
Life is good.

{ Inspiration: Bedrooms }

When I was redoing my bedroom, I looked to blogs for inspiration. Of course!
And while doing so, I noticed that many blogs out there show almost their entire homes, but not their bedrooms.
I saw a number of really fun/cute/creative kids rooms, but not so many master bedrooms. So, during my searching, I gathered a collection of photos of bedrooms from blogs that I enjoy.
I thought I would share them with you., you know, just in case you're looking for inspiration. :)

So, what is it about not showing our bedrooms?
Maybe, like me, we leave it to the end to decorate because nobody sees it but us.
What do you think?

Hope you have a happy weekend!

{ Waiting for Summer }

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
We had gorgeous weather all weekend here in So Cal!
We just had to take advantage of it & go for a walk on the beach.
This is my thoughtful look. haha!
I do love my new hat from Target.
I can't wait for summer.
We still have 3 more weeks!
