{ I Can Make That }

Chris over at Just a Girl is hosting a blog party today! She is calling it "I Can Make That" & it's to help us get ideas for Christmas gifts this year that we can make ourselves. I know I am cutting back this year so this is a great idea. Head on over to her blog & check out all the great ideas.

My contribution to the party are coasters! I love vintage postcards, especially Halloween & Christmas ones. I found these images online & to my suprise I had quite a few on my PrintShop program. I printed out 4 images that I liked & trimmed them to size using my ripped paper decorative scissors.

Next I Mod Podged them onto these tiles. I bought darker ones that were not tumbled because I wanted a smoother finish.

After they dried, I cut felt squares to size & glued them to the bottom so they won't scratch your furniture.

And wah, lah! Quick & easy, right!

Oh yah, you should do at least 2 coats of Mod Podge...3 would be best. Just to make sure it is liquid proof.

You could use any images that you like. I did pictures of my kids just for fun. I printed the images out in sepia tone & used the tumbled tiles for these. The skies the limit!

If you have a great "I Can Make That" idea, go to the Just a Girl blog & join the party!

I've seen stamped tile coasters, but I prefer vintage pics/postcards too. The family photo idea would make a great special event gift or party favor. Thanks for sharing this idea.
I enjoyed visiting your previous post.

Sweet Wishes,
Sara

I found you blog through the link and all I can say is THANK YOU because I was just about to shell out over $25.00 for coasters at Walgreen's! I took some beautiful pictures of my grandson and wanted to have them on coasters to give to my daughter as a surprise. I will be making them myself now and will make a set for me as well!

THANK YOU for this idea. It's like you gave ME a gift!
Happy Crafting!

Ok, had to comment again because I am laughing. You girls are all talking about giving them to grandparents and here I am, the grandmom, talking about surprising my daughter with them!!!

I was watching our grandson the other day and had bought a little santa outfit at Ross for $5.99!!! Included the hat, too! I dressed him up and shot tons of pics. They are soooo adorable and that's what I am doing to surprise my daughter and her hubby for Christmas.

Too funny.... it's going to be a wonderful holiday season. can't wait to read the rest of your blog! Love the header!!!
